Racing 2009

Opening day... April 19, 2009... put DJ out for most of the season, but Mikey raced on. The two of them collided on the track and DJ broke his femur. Mikey had a great learning experience on the track being it was his 1st full year of racing. DJ returned to the track the week to follow, despite having surgery, to watch Mikey race. He returned to racing in Sept. with his rods still intact in his femur. Neither of the boys had a first place finish for the season, but Mikey drove his heart out in the absence of his big brother on the field with him but by his side in the pits giving him advice. DJ returned to the track full speed, no fear, driving it like he stole it! He finished in 2nd place fot the Turkey Derby.
